Re: Old school B series rebuild - FULL story
I just did a quick look into the Kinsler ITB setup and that looks very sexy. Do you mind sharing with me exactly what configuration you were thinking of going with? I may decide to go this route ;-) What makes you choose Kinsler over something like Toda ITB's? I didn't get too far into my research ...

Re: Old school B series rebuild - FULL story
As I look at all the various comments and data from similar builds (they are all unique of course) I am getting the feeling that my 146ft-lbs of torque is a pretty respectable peak. Hitting my peak HP at about 8,500RPM is more or less what I expected and I could likely hold that power until well pa...

Re: Old school B series rebuild - FULL story
Have you considered using the RDX injectors? The most difficult aspect of RDX injectors is finding a fuel rail that properly aligns and seats the injectors. Many on the market are simply adapted for RDK, leading to improperly spray angle (less power) or leaks. I am using the stock b series fuel rai...

Re: Old school B series rebuild - FULL story
Which model Skunk2 70mm TB did you choose to match with the Skunk2 ultrastreet IM? I'm using the 70mm Pro Series black TB: https://skunk2.com/induction/throttle-bodies/pro-series-throttle-body-820.html So far its working great and likely helped me pick up some top end torque/power over the 68mm TB ...

Re: Old school B series rebuild - FULL story
Great build Doug  . I love these kinds of B18C5 motor builds as they take what Honda created and improve it without sacrificing power delivery. All motor, all damn day :trophy: Curious why you chose 83mm and not bigger? Stock stroke? And why not more compression? Perhaps fuel selection isn...

Re: Old school B series rebuild - FULL story
What compression are u running? Pump gas? CR is about 11.5:1 which is pretty low for a build like this, but I'm also running on crappy 91 octane California fuel. Hehe... I've been around a while but am still learning stuffs as time goes on. I also have great respect for those who have skills in are...

Re: Old school B series rebuild - FULL story
Wow! I'm impressed with your numbers, 222/146 will be fun. What are your first impressions from the coilpacks? Thanks! These results definitely make me pretty happy. The coil packs definitely make the engine feel much smoother. I found that when setting the timing that the ignition didn't seem to b...

Re: Old school B series rebuild - FULL story
After a second day on the dyno and with some new additions (coil pack retrofit and new 70mm TB) I've got some new numbers: https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7862/32636234318_b38dc072f6_b.jpg Day 2 dynorunShare 2 by Baby NSX , on Flickr about a 9HP gain from the previous day... not bad and I think the e...

Hehe... I've been around a while but am still learning stuffs as time goes on. I also have great respect for those who have skills in areas where I don't. That is why I'd rather have my engine assembled by someone with plenty of experience putting race engines together. It's not a part of the build ...
