98-0730 Salvage rebuild!!!

Post by Misterjew » Sat Mar 10, 2018 7:11 pm

I really need to start a build thread showing the progress of my car but I have definitely been slacking in that department.

I had a general question hoping someone here can help me out.

I purchased my 98 ITR as a shell I have spent several years getting her back on the road. I would go months without working on her often but my biggest issue I have right now is when I purchased the car it came with jdm rhd doors on the car.

I purchased usdm door harnesses but it seems like I have extra connectors with nothing to connect them too. I can power the windows using my power probe but that's the only way.

Do I need to get usdm window motors and regulators with new door actuators or what is the easiest way for me to get them working? Any opinions or thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Excuse the post it was done on my phone.

I wouldn't think that Honda would change the window motor or actuator wiring between usdm/jdm but I'm not 100% certain. seems like you might have something else going on. how many extra plugs do you have and are you sure you haven't forgotten to plug anything up? if the switch is bad or not plugged in then neither window will work I'm pretty sure. I don't remember if there is a ground from the door harness but that could be easy to forget to hook back up...

The wiring is definitely different and the colors of the wires are different as well. Before I go out and spend money on new regulators/motors I wanna make sure that's exactly what I need. The switches work in other cars so that's not the issue. Like I said if i power the windows with my power probe they work.

I almost want to find a set of doors and just bolt them on. The chances of finding a set of R doors are slim.

do you know what year the door harnesses are from? it looks like every usdm 2 door integra has the same door harness from 97-01. is it possible you have a pre 97 door harness?

The harnesses are from a 00 model. I made sure to order a 98-01 harness. I've spoken to a shop that does all that rhd stuff and they were very short with me and only told me I had to change the motors and regulators with the US harnesses. I'm fine with that but a set of new motors and regulators are $300 I'd rather not spend the money if I can get around it.

I just gave some one a driver regulator and motor. Bummer. Would have gave it to you. Why not try a junkyard regulator on one side?

Would this help?

www.speedofheat.com/images/integra/keyless1.jpg

I bought this harness on Facebook from someone who thought it was the dealer option harness for ITR keyless entry. When I got it, it was obviously not the correct part, but I kept it because I thought it might have the correct connectors that I could adapt to make a working keyless entry project. Now that I sold my car, I don't need this.

Look carefully at it: it has an ignition key and keyless fob. The fob says "Honda". So, I think this is a JDM door harness. Maybe these parts can help you.

so do the motors plug up correct then? maybe the pinout is different. I would try unplugging the door harness, find out which wires power the motor with your power probe then check from the door harness which wires are getting power when you hit the switch.
