ITR 00-0234

Post by yoshi234 » Thu Apr 30, 2020 4:36 pm

In no particular order I'll be uploading photos with notes of ITR 00-0234.
I've lost or misplaced lot of photos over the years but I still have a ton to share

I bought it on 11/19/1999 at Valencia Acura. Dealer had it ready for me outside as I arrived. Shot this on Sony Mavica

Had to dig the center console out of storage to get a pic of the badge.

Can you imagine trying to buy a new one now with only 6 miles on it? :o

Oh wow, these are truly throwback photos. This has to be fun to go back.

I need to dig up my badge. I removed it from 98-1040 after purchasing to save in the event of theft. I've had an OE replacement in there ever since.

My armrest/badge is in storage too, have a blank armrest in my caR. Sometimes I wonder why not just install it?

Backup / Reverse Camera Install

Post by yoshi234 » Fri May 01, 2020 12:40 pm

Backup camera install into /////Alpine ILX-007

I recently installed a backup camera eRapta ERT02 2nd Gen.
(link to Amazon where I bought this setup)
https://amzn.to/2YnuDoU

Installation was fairly straight forward. I had the interior removed already so tucking and fishing of wires and cables was much easier to do a clean install.

A. Two power wires (one attached to yellow RCA and other goes straight to camera) spliced into reverse light
B. RCA from camera attached to extension RCA that goes to headunit
C. Camera wiring routed through the stock grommet
D. Connector from the camera plugged into power and ground
E. Attached the camera ground wire to the stock grounding location
Image

You can see the grommet behind the license plate
Image

Green circle - Red wiring coming off the RCA cable is connected to the "REVERSE" wire coming off the headunit. This lets the headunit know when the car is put into reverse and for image to appear on screen.

Everything installed and inspected

I assume the event trigger is the reverse indicator in the tail lights? Or is that your 12v too? I am impressed, I plan to go back and clean up my wiring when I reinstall AC into 98-1040. I recall the wiring being entirely too long... This is such a nice safety feature to have after getting used to a reverse camera in my RS.

Yup, serves as both.

I'm already short and then sit even lower b/c of the Mugen seat so it's a bit difficult see well behind me. Before I used to just slaps things in call it a day but with time to spare these days I can really take my time to make a nice, clean & tidy install.

y :o shi - who's still working on the audio & security wiring and kind of embarassed at the amount of extra wiring that's been cut out so far

I have a Sony touch screen in my gs-r. It has rear camera capability, but I never wired it. But this is inspiring.

In that first pic, it almost looks like a yellow NSX is sitting on the showroom floor. So Yoshi, you have had this car since day 1? That's awesome! Wonder how many others are the original owner of their type R?
