Motor Mounts
Re: Motor Mounts
i dont actually know what mounts they are. they were already installed. i know they are solid and look like a very stiff rubber. maybe there will be some identifying marks when i switch them out. the rear view mirror is not falling off, thankfully. i just kinda thought this was what "civic type r" from japan was like. im excited to get them changed out. i ordered online already, i will have to check with Chris on the next purchase.
Re: Motor Mounts
What I mean is the mirror droop. If you set the mirror and you look later and it's lower. If it does that you can fix it for free.

Re: Motor Mounts
LOL, they were pretty old considering they were installed around May 2005. Sorry about those wheel bearings as I'm sure I contributed the most to their wear. They were still good when that car left my hands.coolhandluke wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 8:11 pmI don't recall specific excessive motor mount vibrations in the GS-R, but it also had a variety of stiff suspensions and came with two bad rear wheel bearings. I measured 89db at pickup.jayhaire wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 3:55 pm ...I had Mugen mounts on my old GS-R and still do on the current DB8R. They're slightly stiffer, and you notice it both on track as well as around town. The dash can be a bit "louder" if that makes sense. I might go back to OEM on the DB8R now that it's not tracked.
I would avoid HardRace, they didn't last 10k. OEM might be an acceptable balance between performance, comfort, durability, and price, assuming availability. I would check with Cris @ IRUNOEM parts:

Re: Motor Mounts
replaced 3 of the 5 mounts (didnt do the lower mounts to the frame rails on each side, yet) and already a huge improvement. i think its -12db quitter at idle than before. which is a huge change. and the 3.5k-4.5k noise appears to be gone. tomorrow will be a full drive in it and ill report back on full changes but as of now, wow, so happy with the change.
