NOT MINE: 98’ CW ITR SF BAY AREA CL: BEWARE

For anyone looking @ this car. Wow! owner is not being upfront with the condition. To start.

1) Badge # is supposed “98-0321” as the owner said, only to find out it is a blank rep badge with a hand-made “98-0321” at the bottom.
2) 95% of the car has been repainted with the only original (paint) of the car being the roof. The front driverside fender has been replaced, as well as the driverside quarter panel skin, front bumper, and core support.
3) I can say that I have looked at many many ITR’s over the years and this is the rustiest “low mileage” one I have ever seen. The passenger side rear quarter panel (where meets the rear bumper) is completely rotted out, as well as very bad rust underneath and throughout the entire car.
4) The rear wing has a good sized crack in it, as well as rust repair from prior damage in the trunk that was spray painted over, that looks to not be done remotely even properly.

The seller is NOT being upfront, and I want to make sure that if any of you plan on checking the car out that you know what your getting yourself into. This car is not as it seems in pictures and is extremely rough. If I was to say this car looks to have many many more miles than it has.

What's the wire or hose running from under the battery tray to the front of the car for? Also in addition to what you said the evap purge valve is protruding past the window cowl and seal. The seat looks like someone peed in it as well.

Words truly cannot describe how destroyed and neglected this R is. I would tell someone to save it, but at this point I honestly don’t know if it’s worth saving. The rust is SO bad, and the car is very far gone. But anything is possible with us R owners I guess.

Ah okay. $19k wasn't too bad imo for the mileage. If someone's desperate enough, I guess they'd be willing to overlook the rust. Perhaps even haggle with the price a little. It's hard enough as it is to find an R pop up for sale in Cali.
