Comparable OE Spec Tires
So the time has some to change rubber. 98-1059 came to me with 205/50/15 Falken Azenis. They’re an awesome tire, just not for me. I want the car to be as close to rolling off the showroom floor in 98 as possible so that means ditching the 205/50’s. Since Honda’s original choice of the Bridgestone Potenza RE030 is now discontinued, I’m looking for the compatible tire. Another Bridgestone RE would be nice. Something that will perform on a Sunday but isn’t loud or super sticky. Must be 195/55/15.

Re: Comparable OE Spec Tires
If it has to be 195/55/15, tire selection will be limited to these in the US

The Dunlop ZII SS or Z3 is probably the most civil out of the 200 tw tires. If its a lower tier tire out of that list, then the BFG comp2 would probably work for street use.
If you are willing to find someone to ship you a Japanese market bridgetstone, they do make the re71r in 195/55/15 for the japanese market, but even then, it is a loud and super sticky tire.

Re: Comparable OE Spec Tires
I think I’ve narrowed it down to the Potenza RE92. It’s been the replacement to the RE030 after it’s extinction and it has gotten pretty good reviews from the OE market. Here’s some info for anyone in the future looking for tires.

Re: Comparable OE Spec Tires
If you want something comparable, an all-season tire is not it. Summer tires, such as the aforementioned Dunlops are a bit closer to the original RE-010.
Falken Azenis are fun but also a bit loud around town due to the tread design and stiff sidewalls. They're fun on track, and many of us older ITR owners drove on the RT-215 205/50/15 Azenis for years on track.

Curious on opinions of the RE003 in that size?

Yea I'd recommend not doing all seasons, unless it's a daily driver.

Re: Comparable OE Spec Tires
This is all good information. Thank you. I may steer back towards the Direzza then. I don’t want an overly aggressive tire.
Re: Comparable OE Spec Tires
Some of the ultra high performance tires might be a good option, looking on tire rack, there looks to be a yokohama sdrive replacement in the ADVAN FLEVA V701 and also the BFG Comp2, both of these are probably solid spirited tires that won't be overly aggressive. Both are available in 195/55
