We only had one record of it in our database, and I haven't explored the info on it yet.

The rear subframe looks really clean, and that is indicative of the later 97s vs. the early ones, which sat at Customs for awhile before allowed entry (due to emissions situation that American Honda had to remedy). Those early ones usually had the slightest corrosion / exposure there.

I commented this in the auction,
"The highest N. American 97 ITR badge number is 514. We have all of this documented internally at ITRCA. Some badge numbers were Canadian and others were simply not used.

That should clear up any confusion.

Also, this car was built on 6/2/1997. The final day of 97 ITR production for N. America was 6/3/1997."

Good info Jay. Little facts like the subframe bit are cool to know.

The emissions situation afaik was with the exhaust header. Originally it came to US with the jdm 4-1, but they had to change to the cast iron pos b/c of emissions.

This and re-program the ECU / PCM.

Can't argue with the Type R name.

Every auction it happens. There's a lot more this time. That car isn't worth it.blah blah tho . there's no non constructive restriction but the itr allowed to be battered by bat members is some serious bs.

As I commented, many of us saw this a decade or more ago. There will be a wide range on these cars, and the special ones will do well. That is, until / unless we have another economic crisis. At that point. all car values and such will suffer, not just the ITR. I'm a closet historian, for the record.

I'm expecting a few sneaky cars to emerge soon as well as some imposters. In fact, I've seen a few with questionable cheating in appearance since the eBay 97R from early 2015.

Congrats to the seller. I know of some others which will command a higher value and look forward to seeing those. At the same time, I am sad to be priced out of a car that I've helped maintain a community and annual event around.
