Another bushing option...from another Expo sponsor...is Mugen(King). OEM quality and slightly stiffer bushings but obviously you're paying a premium.

Are there actual durometer measurements for the spoon/mugen bushings vs stock? It really depended on the application, but I thought most bushings from spoon/mugen were fairly priced compared to some of the scene point stuff mugen and spoon fans seem to clamor for that I wouldnt always pay for...

The mounts from rhd japan and compliance bushings are what I am currently using. No feedback on the mounts b/c car is still down...

I replaced everything ~2 years ago and while all were still available at the time some weren't in stock and took a few months for them to make their way to me.

is mugen worth it? hard to say but i just remember CanuckR's '97 felt amazing on track and that's what it had so i figured :moneyburn:

I went the Mugen bushing route 10 years ago when I redid my suspension. As mentioned, OEM quality using rubber, not poly, with a slight increase in stiffness. I would do it the same way again if I had to.

For those with Kingpin bearings, any long term usage feedback in terms of increased NVH? The compliance ones have me drooling but the popping/clunking associated with sphericals has me hesitant.

NVH?

absolutely no popping/clunking from my kingpin compliance bearings, on track or off.

one additional benefit: i pulled the power steering years ago and it always felt heavier than other cars w/o PS. after installing the compliance bearings it lightened it up a noticable amount

That's great to hear and has always been my fear when looking at any suspension spherical bearing. I had sphericals in my front LCA's from Orijin Performance (long gone now) back in the day (2005) and they popped immediately after install so that had me tainted a bit. It sounds like quality has been greatly improved since then. My goal with the front compliance bearings is to keep the rear end planted during high speed braking (no wiggle) and I hear that they improve that aspect. I also don't like having the toe set to anything but zero for the sake of tire wear and top speed. As neutral as possible is the end goal.

Yeah, popping and clunking is due to shitty bearings. If you haven't already, check out the recent SlipAngle podcast with Brinson from Kingpin. He talks a fair bit about bearing quality and his parts... WELL worth the listen.

Zero issues with either of my sets. I will have to check my mileage but I would guess ~10k over the last ~4-5 years. I am reusing my 97's lower compliance set in the EG build.
