Start of the mainstream JDM DC2 imports?

HMO is showing they brought in a complete JDM dc2 in their latest shipment. I think this would be about the correct timing (+25yrs) to start seeing early 96 ITRs. Does this mean we’ll start seeing an increasing number of these? If so it could mean more competition for already limited new parts (especially anything emissions related) but a larger market/demand for parts could mean new options will open in response.

Will also be interesting to watch what an import wave would do to values. I suspect values for true museum pieces will remain high but we’d see a lot more pressure on mileage and modifications.

Here is Canada we have been able to import ITR's for quite some time. Definitely have seen a increase of them around, and parts are getting harder and harder to find. Luckily here we don't need to worry to much about anything emission related.

I can just imagine how much they will be selling over to the USA, the demand will be high for the 96 spec ITR's. Keep in mind most of the ITR's sell for fairly cheap at auction in Japan, of course depending on auction grade. Sometimes it is best to do the work yourself and not pay the middle man when buying a car from Japan.

Awesome.

A four-dour is the only RHD that interests me. I would also consider a Type Rx. One day, some day, not today.

Maybe one day. A move outside of the city is required first.

That's a wise move to hold onto it until they are legally allowed to be imported (properly.)

Another good option for people in the states that want to eventually buy a JDM ITR. Purchase one now while the prices are still affordable, and have it stored in Japan until it becomes US legal. Shipping cost don't vary to much its the initial price at auction that fluctuates with the market.
