In an era where stock and pristine is held on its highest pedestal (as it should) it's refreshing to see a build with usage in mind. Keep up the great work my ninja.
Well stated.

Appreciate the kind words sir! I have an appreciation for both type of builds and if money and space weren't an issue, I'd be building a pristine one as well.

Here's a little mid week update:

Think I might have lost the speaker brackets for the front doors during disassembly of the car so had to purchase a new pair. Mounted them on the doors and installed the OEM JDM Gathers speakers.

And the rears to match

Hoping to swap out wheel bearings this weekend so I'll post some progress if I do

Looking great I've been holding off on dropping speakers in and closing doors up until I get most of the interior buttoned up (to minimize potential for damage getting in\out) but this makes me eager to get my system in!

Not running a door card tweeter?

That's probably the wise thing to do! Haha. Sometimes I get a little excited when I know I got an hour or two to put towards the car so I find little tasks like this. But I will probably pull the speakers off when I move the large parts in like dash and seats to avoid damage like you mentioned. Yeah I have the original tweeters on the door panels I'll be using but I may need to complete the Gathers audio package and find me a pair of tweeters

With the coaxial door speaker you may find the highs over bright/represented. Then again the OEM tweeter wasn’t all that assertive so it may not be an issue.

Gathers does have a couple driver only models for the front. I had sourced a set and ended up selling when I decided to go with amplified Polk components., I can try to dig out part number if curious.

Same here, I love car builds in general. It's art, we are painting what we wish to see.

Things have been a bit slow with the build last couple of weeks. Yard work took up this whole weekend but managed to do a few small things

Refinished the OEM lower tie bar. Didn't do any before pictures but it was damn ugly lol

Also got the old bearing off my hub and picked up a few new pieces

Progress is productive, even if inch by inch. This is a hobby/project car after all, keep it fun and enjoy the process.

Love the fresh hubs.
Careful with the direction on the bearings, they'll go in either way. IIRC the rubber seal faces towards the CV and the metal seal faces towards the rotor\hub (I think to better deal with heat from the brakes).
