ITR Door Hinges

Post by Humpie56 » Fri Nov 17, 2017 8:42 pm

Anyone have the Drivers Hinges wear out. My lower one has play and recently it doesn’t like to close properly because of it. I wonder if anyone has the Japanese Parts CD and if they are the same parts since some companies sell the JDM Hinges.

I'd think the jdm hinges would be the same. Just guessing though.

I have the JDM EPC available. Do you have a part number to compare?

Is that a Japanese Parts Catalog?

Looks like both doors use the same two hinges just in reverse!

So my door decided to sag and I can feel play. I can lift it up and it closes properly. From researching the hinge bushing fails and causes this . The lower hinge I can see doesn’t appear to even have the bushing any longer. The part numbers for the type R is discontinued. It seems the other models have a different part number and appear to be available.
Any one know why they have a different part number, or if I can use the rs-gsr equivalent? I also tried a Japanese catalogue search. That got confusing. It looks like that catalog showed maybe left and right side using different part numbers that are also different from the U.S type R part numbers .

Crickets in here. I referenced the jdm part numbers for the type r assigned in the catalog , I found they correspond to a 1990 legend and 90 - 96 integras in the U.S . The superseded part number in the U.S is the same part number as every other model except Acura didn’t list the Usdm type R with the superseded part number. I read a post somewhere that Acura fubared the catalog ?? Any way I have the some pics for you guys of the replacements. Remember these were painted. You only get black no options on color.Image

There’s bushings that deteriorate causing the door to sag . You can see them in the pic .

There’s a c clip holding the pin . Might be possible to change the bushing and keep the original hinges and pin ? That’s what I see on other models . Acura or Honda doesn’t sell those .

Dc2productions was kind enough to send me some pics of his 97 hinges. Other than paint, I notice his pins have a slightly tip different tip .
