where to buy a new steering rack? help

im just curious to see if anyone has bought a steering rack for their type r recently and where did they go. i called acura already and they are discontinued

Did you read the previous thread that had all the information about the OEM reman rack? The info is there and part number. Is it discontinued now?

i spoke with them over the phone but they told me they were long gone. but when i search that number on their site says its in stock. maybe ill try and put a order in for it and see what happens?

Who did you call? I would recommend IRUNOEM, as they sponsor Type R Expo and their Parts Manager owns a '97 ITR. As mentioned, the new racks are gone, but Acura (used) to offer a re-manufactured unit.

The closest thing to a new oem rack is the OEM reman rack or you buy all the assorted seals and rebuild your current rack yourself

I believe so, you get the inner tie rods with the reman. And I believe there is fluid inside the rack

I would recommend calling IRUNOEM. Cris will give you a straight answer before spending $XXX without clarity.
