Lower Torque Mounts

It looks like the passenger side is discontinued though Acura while the driver's side is available. Rockauto offers an assortment that very cheap in comparison. Hardrace makes a product to replace both sides but I am skeptical of their quality (reference the new discussion on the forum). Energy suspension makes inserts as well that can be clamped to any standard product. What do you use and at what level of motorsport does your car function on (track-daily)? Are there alternatives out there that I am missing?

Hey BJ, would you be willing to collaborate with Little_Nolan and myself? I foresee this tip of need as a growing trend so we were discussing creating a one-stop shop of bushing options for these cars.

We could test RockAuto variants. I would start with an OEM MFG of the mounts if pursuing OEM style and ride. A performance alternative could be Hasport:

This reminds me I need to fix mine lower torque mounts in the subframe.

Can you still get LS/GSR torque mounts? They might be softer, but it is OEM and might be an option.

The Mugen/Spoon mount set comes with torque mounts too

The hasport mount looks like a great option with the "street" density.

There is an archived HT thread about these being a softer compound and the consensus being to "upgrade to the ITR set" which may have contributed to being discontinued. It also sounded like speculation.

It would be cool if the Mugen or Spoon could be purchased separately.

I have hardrace torque mounts - I have not checked to see how they are holding up though Probably should.


I had a set of energy suspension inserts in 2005ish that held up really well and even survived a serious head on collision the vehicle was involved in. They DID cause vibrations though for sure. I have also used the mugen mounts as parts of the full motor mount kit and they were fantastic but sold with the vehicle and I have no idea how they held up past the 5yr mark.

I have also poured in Urethane to the stock mounts and made my own and that actually worked as well as the ES but by far transmitted the most vibrations to cabin.

We need to start the bushing and mount replacement thread Ryan. This is getting serious.

If you want close to OEM have you looked into the Mugen ones? I can't imagine they ever sold out of them for the price they are.

I'd personally go with the Hasport's, but I've also wanted to swap out my HAsport engine mounts because they look a little out of place in the engine bay.
