I picked up my pair of 1/4 windows from Acura Carland last week. That "packaging" is hilarious. The window is so light is the only reason they survive is my guess. Honda might as well put one packing peanut in the box. Bubble wrapped both windows and put them in one box together for storage. Why make the box big enough to put two windows in? Bizarre.

My Acura had ups for one week. Then went back to fedex. I already posted this butcoolhandluke wrote:I have been communicating with a Type R Expo community member currently living in Japan. Due to the high rate of Honda discontinuing ITR parts, I have asked him to explore if Japan is also facing similar issues. I have already confirmed European markets are facing similar issues.
Given glass is involved, this is a concern for domestic shipping, even more so for international.
UPS returned my order to IRUNOEM last Thursday for unknown reasons. Now I'm extra nervous but I know Cris at IRUNOEM takes special care when shipping our parts so I'm confident.

We are all in this boat together. That's why it's important to unify as a community. It's worth noting that American Honda is filled with many individuals from various backgrounds and memories. The good news is we still have advocates within, like certain individuals that have spoken at various Type R Expo events throughout the years and Acura & Honda's marketing teams (separate) are beginning to remember and re-associate Type R's with Acura and Honda's performance branding.330R wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 7:26 pmIt’s a terrible situation for us, when we’re trying to restore or maintain the ITRs and other classic Hondas. I understand the business can’t support making parts for all the old cars forever, but I think we’ve been vocal in everything from attempting to place the orders, or even the fact we bought up all the stock! Also through social media, forums, etc. The S2000 20th anniversary campaign in Japan that put the feelers out for what parts owners would like to see brought back and/or continued to be available, is a positive sign.coolhandluke wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 4:55 pm

I really need to put my thoughts together and write American Honda about this. Does anyone else think how strange it is that Acura uses the ITR and NA1 NSX in the “Beat That” ad for nostalgia but we’ll soon be struggling to keep them out on the roads to be enjoyed?

That's awesome, but what can we do to have them make more parts for us? lol. I would much rather buy OEM Honda parts for my ITR than any aftermarket garbage (except the top Mugen, Spoon, etc). There's not that many of these amazing cars left. I'd like to make sure they last for a long time.coolhandluke wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 1:59 pm We are all in this boat together. Good question! They key IMO is we are stronger together than separate. The Type R Club of America / Type R Expo community has a brand within American Honda Motor Company, Acura, and Honda Performance Development (HPD.) The advocates I mentioned above, whom have spoken and attended multiple Type R Expo events, work across divisions within Honda (Acura, American Honda, and HPD.) Our community has consistently impressed Honda employees who have attended Type R Expo and this respect drives advocacy for our community within Honda.g3teg97 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 4:15 pmThat's awesome, but what can we do to have them make more parts for us? lol. My ask would be to leverage your social media posts and interactions with Acura, American Honda, Honda Performance Development, and tag #typerexpo or @typerexpo to raise awareness for our community's brand. The goal being for greater Honda marketing teams to take note of their loyal fanbase. One could extend this to Honda memorabilia, other new Honda purchases, like Civic Type R/Acura TLX Type S/Honda Accord Sport, and even a fancy Honda lawnmower.
My pipe dream would be for Honda to announce a program offering owners the ability to restore their Type R similar to:
-Honda of Japan NSX restoration program
-Mazda of USA Miata restoration program
-Porsche 911 restoration program
Reminder, this community and forum are owned, run, and managed by the Type R community. Type R Club of America and Type R Expo none-profits run by Type R community volunteers. We are all in this together for the long haul.

No one goes into GDD and expects a cordial, fair, or mature discussion about Hondas. It’s been that way for years. Couldn’t care less what they say.
