I know Adam (Jabaay) has been running the Nankang on his hatch. I pinged him to get his $0.02... he said they’re faster than the Toyo RR and R888 for his car and he likes how they drive better than any of the 200TW stuff he’s been on. Said they feel more like an R-comp with regard to noise/manners. Wear has been great... almost no wear after a couple track days and some street driving. He’s running a 245/225 stagger.

I’ve also read some feedback from Hollis that seems to mirror the positive stuff above. Only downside that I’ve heard about is a high wear rate on bigger/heavier cars. This may be a problem with accelerated wear at high temp or it could be that they’re making these in different compounds but not publishing the info.

Thank you for the feedback! Justin98CTR on here also recommended the Nankang AR1's. I made the purchase and mounted them Friday, TBD on next track date.

That was a really good read. I have a friend at FCA who was constantly harping about the Cup 2 differences in a small group chat. He was humble bragging about how he was right about this

On a serious note, when the ITR came out did Tire Rack or the dealers sell an "OEM" RE010 and was there a regular RE010? I also noticed the 8th gen Civic Type R also had a specialized bridgestone too.

Good question on original RE010's. I wish I had hung onto my set...they would be ancient now though.

He was talking about how the Michelins they developed for the SRTs trim level cars were different than the retail version you would get at tire rack. Another friend and I in the chat couldn't accept the absurd pricing the OEM tire to justify buying them and with how long those special tires would last when 5+ years down the line.

He also mentioned stuff like a tire like the re71r would never pass the OEM requirements, but the special michelins would.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask the question...but didnt want to start a new thread either.

Does anyone have experience with the newer 215/45/16 tire options out there (i.e. Falken RT615K+, RT660, BFG Rivals)? I found past discussions about the Falkens running wide - but I have no first hand experience. They are for a 16x7+43 Advan RG1s. I am not extremely low, but also dont want to roll or modify anything. My backup is to just go wtih the re71r in 205/45/16.

Appreciate any feedback you guys can offer.
