Reunite Original Type R Badges, Engines, & Transmissions Thread

Post by coolhandluke » Wed Sep 09, 2020 3:24 pm

This is a community effort to match original armrest badges, engines, transmissions, with their rightful owner. Mismatched parts are common due to theft or previous owners. The goal of this thread is to track which parts are available/known whereabouts or in possession by the community for the community. Should the original vehicle no longer be with us, ie total loss/destroyed, original or previous owners can submit requests.

Community Volunteers - the first to reach out to regarding available parts. If a badge, engine, transmission, etc., are not available, we can post up a "WTB" below. Community volunteers will help maintain this thread but it will take a village to scout across the plethora of FB groups, these forums, and more, for intel. Expect the community to require ownership verification prior.

I picked up a car with a B18C5 motor. VIN ending in 001287. Reuniting it would be awesome.

I’m also looking for the OG motor and trans for 01-1166. Stolen in Phoenix in dec 2008. I am led to believe that it was in a white EG hatchback that was impounded, and the motor *may* have been in it/removed from it.

This is a great thing for owners looking to reunite parts!! In bought 01-1158 as a clean title bare shell 4 years ago with 74k. Since then I have found the VIN matching transmission and VIN matching engine. It was a glorious day when I found the engine. I actually shed tears over it lol..

I am currently in search of the badge for my 97 Salvaged title. I once got the badge number from a member here but it was lost when the old page crashed.. I'd love to get the badge number again and put my ISO Badge# on this thread.. the last of my 97 VIN is 003052 if anyone can help.

There a group in Phoenix around this time targeting R's. The police did make arrests and recover both cars and motors and cars with stolen motors in them. It was a large case and there is information that could be dug up.... Also still looking for some ITR seats, mugen intake and some other stuff that was stolen by these guys (or other group) in Phoenix around that same time.
