ITR Seat Material

Post by tegra7 » Tue Dec 15, 2020 3:28 pm

Hi everyone. I got my hands on a pair on black CDM ITR seats with a couple of burns on the seat bottom. Wondering if anyone here has had any luck matching the seat fabric. Im looking for the mesh material that goes in the middle.

So far this is the closest matching material I can find.

Looks close. But I would ask or order a small sample to compare before buying.

I think you are better off keeping the burns than the Chinese fabric.
Capital seating I believe had some of the proper fabric or parts for the JDM seats.

We chatted already but just wanted to suggest for others to look for a rear JDM seat to sacrifice. Recently I saw an upper one side only. Good luck!

Capital seating sells the mesh material for Recaro Avus seats, not sure if that the same stuff they used for USDM ITR seats.

Interesting thread I swapped to JDM seats in 01-0386. One of the reasons was a burn on the original driver’s seat.

I’m very happy with the JDM seats, being probably the most comfortable auto seat I’ve ever had. In and out is complicated due to support but not an issue since my ITR won’t be a driven daily.

I plan to put the original usdm seats up for sale soon. If quality repair options are viable I’d like to make sure a buyer has that info.

Sorry for the side topic but....
Any ideas what USDM ITR seats are going for? Is there any real interest or are most restoration projects recovering LS seats to appropriate trim.

a full set of seats front and rear with center console and badge recently sold on ebay for 1400plus 350 for shipping... id say the front seats were most of the value.

I saw a set of used set of USDM/CDM with small burn marks sell quickly for $700 CAD. OEM parts have a lot of value now but hard to put a price on them.

I love my JDM Recaro too. Way better holding for autox/track etc. My stock fronts are cleaned and in storage.
