To me the irony is that Acura has consciously tried to distance itself from Honda this whole time. They wanted to be a “luxury” brand. The Integra was redesigned, renamed, then dropped because it didn’t fit with their line. The NSX itself suffered this fate. Neither sports vehicle fit with their line and they actively abandoned both in the early 2000’s.
Yes I like the nod but I’d rather see them make some parts again to show some support.
Until then I drive a Honda!

I agree, they should have kept NSX and Integra under Honda when they brought them to North America.

I have a lot of thoughts and comments on this subject, somewhat based on my experience with Expo and working with Acura, HPD, etc. I've never made them public though.
I am glad to see some reference to their past with the NSX and ITR. However, I've seen some real doozy messages on their social media citing that era with incorrect photos and information. It's an easy mistake to make, but it looks a little rough coming from the brand itself. The commenters are usually quick to correct it, and I laugh / applaud that. I've met both great people as well as some that make me wonder why I bother even talking to them at HMA.
In terms of the Type R community, and in particular the ITR community, we have a really unique group of owners and enthusiasts. You would hope that HMA appreciates that.

I have a lot of respect for this Jay, though clearly I should have more. I will add that Acura's presentations at Type R Expo and NSXPO (when we we've combined community events) have stated Acura wants to shift back towards the "precision" brand Acura was was. No need to apologize. Whether one is a longtime enthusiast or recently entered the community, we are all collectively dealing with dramatically increased parts prices. Parts that used to be an "affordable" upcharge from the dealer over generic alternatives are now sky high with less quality. Worse, Acura/HMA are discontinuing parts daily, further increasing replacement parts costs. My recommendation is to centralize participation in this forum or Type R Club of America or Type R Expo social media pages. I'm bias, but Type R Expo has successfully cultivated relationships over many years of the event with Acura, HPD, and HMA. The larger the social media presence, the better our chances of Honda (collective) noticing. $.02
