Small update to the story:

Loaded up as many parts as I could each trip, In this photo, I used my wife's RSX.
Image

Came with OEM visors! ...and need to remove that purple faded tint.
Image

I believe Adam used this bay from his shop for door storage and mentioned, "it's super dry and perfect."
Image

Ed donated a ton of stuff, including stock front and rear seats.

Next post will most likely be about the car's previous years or the move from Adam's shop to our old home.

Also, here is the old GS-R shift knob that was sent back to me. (Thanks, Dan!)

Although I have a new 97 - 98 ITR shift knob, I am using this old shift knob for nostalgia.

I love these kinds of stories. I remember your wife's RSX at Road America, possibly during the 2016 IndyCar weekend.

Great updates! That other 97 took one hell of a whack. If I understand from the thread it spun and hit a tree on the rear avoiding the dear ? That is crazy it folded like that.

Yep, we took her car up that year. I kind of miss it.

2016 was a crazy PWC weekend, and the last weekend Peter raced in that series.

I remember when Ed / Zygspeed posted it on h-t (feeling old now). Maybe he can chime in?

I had plans to complete the car at Adam's shop. However, finding time to get down there was a challenge.

Image

Some ugly wiring due to theft and repair. The harness used to replace much of it was from an LS with added yellow wires for VTEC. This was a bit problematic down the road and repaired properly (credit to those 2 will be mentioned in here when I get there).
Image

In my planning, I already had a bunch of spare items including a transmission, extra front seats, spare engine items including distributors, etc. This should be easy...(or so I thought)

In Feb 2017, I purchased an incomplete long block from a community member for an affordable price. What I should have remembered is that you get what you pay for. In this case, it was missing more items than expected. Worse, it's kind of a dud. Details later.

Fast forward to May, and Adam loaded up the car and engine on his trailer and brought it to our old home. I thanked him with a bottle of gin, haha.

Image

One of our neighbors was a mechanic and recognized what the car was as we were unloading it. Those are always funny conversations along with that slight nervousness due to theft. Thankfully, he was a great guy and even loaned me a tool when needed.

The following weekend, I got started. A friend whom I worked with at Acura came by to check it out and lend a hand multiple times. My wife shared this photo apparently...
Image

I was making a list of everything that needs to be addressed in here before dropping an engine in...
Image

...and as large as that list was, I still missed a few things.

Speaking of items, I believe this is a Seibon ITR CF wing, half painted CW. It came with the car and is super light. I do plan to sell it, if anyone is interested.

Definitely going to follow this build. Are you going to return it to stock? Track car? Resto mod?

That pic was in front of Steve Sakai's shop and a few stalls down and across from where Dave of SMSP had his place.

Hey Jay, glad to see #151 (which Gina named "Bacardi") coming along with everyone's help.

And, yeah, luckily I'd walked away from that one with mostly just a bunch of aches and pains (can discuss in person some day if that conversation comes up over a beverage or two).

I'm glad you've posted in this thread.
