I love organizing so I randomly thought about trying to get some updates on where and what condition USDM Type Rs are. I went through the Graveyard thread and put together a document with how cars were lost based on the replies and am hoping people can chime in.

Any current or former owners, please update this thread with any additional info. Really hoping for three things. The current status of the car (restored, fixed, parted out, crushed, etc), the VIN of the car, and the badge number. The state the car resides in would be awesome as well. Mileage?! Any and all info you can provide. This will be helpful for any current and future owners. My biggest hope is to put VINs to Badge numbers, but the additional info is great, too!

Please share this thread with anyone who you might think can help contribute.

Also, if your car isn't on this list, and it should, please respond with as much info as you can, even photos!

Suspicious reasons for "theft":
00-0874 JH4DC2310YS003875- PY Was in TN for some part of it's life, then bought by someone in CA in approximately 2014-2015. The paint job wasn't as expected to it was amazingly "stolen". Car looks like it was painted poorly PY again. Lots of over spray and dull. Then sold at salvage auction and bought by ITRCA member to restore. Missing lots of parts. Much of the interior, most of the suspension, and USDM front end was taken off and a damaged JDM radiator support was installed. Still had the dash, carpet, rear interior panels, doors, side skirts, hatch lid, wing, rear bumper, and rear tail lights. Mileage is approximately 148K-168K miles. Rebuilt!

-98-0265 - H-T username Spunkster. Graveyard #4 Never recovered. JH4DC231XWS002424 Stolen 10/6/03 from Long Beach, CA in gated Apartment that required a remote to get in and out. Stolen between the hours of 7AM and 4PM in broad daylight.

-98-1076 H-T username Jackson Graveyard thread #10 - Stolen 12/15/06 at my apartment in Newport Beach, CA - 1998 - CW - Badge 1076 - Roughly 55-60k miles - The car was stolen from my apartment in Newport Beach which I had just moved into. I always had a garage and secure location for the car until then. I pretty much let my guard down in thinking nothing would happen to my car in a nice area.
I want to say this happened around 2am on a Monday night/early Tuesday morning because my dog wouldn't stop barking and I was too tired and lazy to get up and look out the window. My bedroom window used to face my car which was only about 20 feet from me.
After I woke up at 7am the next morning I realized my dog had been trying to warn me. The light above my car in the carport had been removed and my car was gone. I knew right away the car was stolen. The Newport Beach PD were very helpful in trying to find any evidence they could to catch the thieves. All they found was the broken light bulb that was above my car that had been thrown into the bushes.
The car was never recovered and none of the parts ever seemed to pop up online. Car was a salvaged title.

Mods: Spoon fixed dampers+spoon progressive springs. Apexi GT Spec catback to a USDM DC 4-1 header. OEM USDM wheels wrapped in Toyo R1R's. J's Racing Intake. Carbing front and rear tower bars. That's all I remember.
Vehicle was stolen out of my former work's parking lot on a saturday night. Had the car towed there after blowing my engine at the track so it wasn't able to be started. It had to be towed which is amazing since it had only been there for 1 night.

ITR parts stripped, thieves replaced front bumper and fenders and installed a 4 lug, apparently to move the vehicle.

I settled with insurance and there were zero sightings of the car or parts from it. The car was mostly stock, except for Koni yellows, and It had a rebuilt salvaged title with a B18C5 from a wrecked 2000 ITR. Former owner still in possession of the original front and rear seats, as well as the armrest and badge. Someone else in the ITR community came across the seats/armrest and sold them to me in early 2020.

It's been sad, depressing, tormenting, frustrating, or more, for many of us for decades now. Many of which I'm sure you have experienced, but I can only image.

I'm lucky to have never experienced a theft or total loss through accident, but theft has been a consistent threat with paranoia for me since 2004.

All that said, we as a community still don't know simple details about USDM DC2 or now FK8 production numbers, how many are left, how many (DC2) were stolen, how many DC2's were stolen multiple times, etc. As a longterm community member I want to be a good steward in helping the current and future owners.

I got this picture from Username misterjew. If it is the same car. I believe the entire front end was lopped off . Sometime later they repaired it with it jdm doors as they were swiped and was sold on copart again. I think doespike provided some intel about the car.
