So is it true that these 1997 EL radio's are plug and play with amber lights back lights?
Yes that is correct, it is what I am currently using in my 98

I was doing some research on this today. Looks like the 1997-1998's are the ones to get. The 1999-2000 have the gray screen instead of the solid black screen on the front.

If anyone can confirm, that would be great!

The Acura EL radio is a good upgrade too, especially if the blitz aux is used with the HU or if you use CDs, since it allows the antenna to go down when the radio isn't used.
Any additional info on the "Blitz Aux"?

This is the unit I bought

You just need the RCA to Aux cable to connect it and you have a working aux. It plugs into the back of the headunit.

In my case, my integra came with the cassette deck plugged into it below the stock radio, but the cassette deck also has the same plug to add the blitz unit.

I might have the one from 97-0175. I say "might" because it may have also been in 175's trunk when it was stolen years ago. I will check my mom's house this weekend.
