When I went onto Tapatalk I still was logged in but I also had a confirm email which I already have done to create and log into the account in the first place. It also had an odd message my act expired which I have been using when clicking the link .

After following the activate email I had to log in again. Then I could click the contact us option. Here is the message I got .IMG_3265.png
I then went to ad my email again. It is clearly visible, however I cannot seem to contact Tapatalk.
Are the original photos available on your phone or backups (cloud/laptop?) I would compare the effort of hunting down TapaTalk and re-uploading to a photohost.
I wish. My iPhone went into update and never recovered. Those pics were still on this thread, when that happened last year. They were still in my iCloud at one point but they aren’t there any longer.

I want to add this to your comment on other hosting sites. Photo bucket killed forums and enabled big tech. They tried to recover their loss by holding the images hostage to pay up. I lost most images before trying to recover them .

I have lost years of pics and info on a Apple phone, went to install updates and never rebooted. Stuck in Apple logo. I also had the pretty much the same thing happen on Microsoft computer, went to reinstall updates and it is dead. I have devices that are too old to update. Everyone works still. The only pics I have ever lost are from photo bucket, Apple, and Microsoft. All devices on updates were the fail point.

I need to look into other storage devices other than the computer .

I expect to hear back from tapatalk later this week. Let's see what their story is.

Since this, I have disabled the app from uploading photos to their server, which should force them to be attached to ours.

I was using my own image server starting around 1999 or so. When other image hosts went offline or drastically changed, I hated how many great threads in archived forums had broken image links. It's one reason I've opened up attaching images on this site.

I share your complaints around Photobucket. The broken images in my rebuild thread are purely due to Photobucket, despite paying a yearly ~$60-70 fee to host. Zero support option from them, I paid up to host but now all I want is the ability to export those photos. I'm currently testing FlickR, but I should really follow Jay's lead and build my own and then setup a backup to a cloud repo like an S3 bucket.

We can switch photo host chat to here to keep this topic on track:

I'll continue this conversation in the other thread, but I did hear back from Tapatalk this morning.
Due to an unexpected error during a routine server maintenance, some tapatalk-stored images have been lost. This only affects images inside topics that have not had any activity in the past 3 months.
Unfortunately, the lost images cannot be recovered.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the loss of any images in older posts.
It sounds like this might affect more than we realize. I'm debating on cutting Tapatalk from the site entirely, but we can discuss in the other thread.

Ouch! Now we know not to host anything worth saving on TapaTalk.

OP - This is a bummer. I feel your pain after dealing with Photobucket. FlickR is the only host I can recommend at the moment but I hope the community has more paid recommendations.
