Re: Sonoma Raceway 11/11-11/12
Day 1 was challenging due to accidentally signing up for a lower run group. This group wasn’t particularly aware, didn’t point, and was dangerous (braking) at times.

Nice brakes. How do those compare to a twin block setup?

Looking good Ry. How are you liking the Alcon caliper set-up? Same as Spoon twinblock? Can OEM-size pads be used? Can you notice the unsprung weight savings with those 2 piece rotors?

Re: Sonoma Raceway 11/11-11/12
This new setup is a big improvement so far. Normally, I would struggle to go two track days without needing to bleed. Note, I️ have been struggling with brake issues the past few years. Improving my brake technique would help this issue, especially at tracks that are hard on brakes, like Laguna Seca.Purplepassiongsr wrote:Nice brakes. How do those compare to a twin block setup?
This BBK held up very well during two days at Sonoma/I️nfineon Raceway. The wet weather added challenges, due to surface and tire changes, but I️ was able to start gaining experience. My biggest take away is brake application. This BBK forces you to be smooth and light on brakes. Mashing the brakes or over applying will lead to lock up, especially in the wet. I’m still working towards confidence, this weekend at Laguna Seca will be a good test.

Re: Sonoma Raceway 11/11-11/12
No, these are a different pad size. Previously, when I️ ran 2pc Stoptech rotors, I️ could tell a different. However, this time I️ changed too much (some out of my control) to be able to pinpoint individual changes like rotor. You are reminding me to weigh the rotor for comparison and to finally start a 98-1040 thread here though.white rocket wrote:Looking good Ry. How are you liking the Alcon caliper set-up?
