97 #00151 Returns
Re: 97 #00151 Returns
If there is one thing good that came out of all the ITRs that were stolen and/or damaged, it is the stories behind the cars and how they were restored. Not many cars out there have such a following. Without a doubt, I feel like if I ever need help with something ITR related, a fellow ITR enthusiast will understand and try to help.
What are the goals for the car? Restoration? Resto-mod?

It won't be a Barrett Jackson level restoration. Goal is to get in proper condition and enjoy. It's not going to fetch big $ anywhere given the rough history, but I'd like to replace the DB8R track stuff with this.AndyD wrote: ↑Mon Feb 15, 2021 2:19 pm If there is one thing good that came out of all the ITRs that were stolen and/or damaged, it is the stories behind the cars and how they were restored. So, mostly stock with small upgrades, including moving items from the DB8R to this (NSX calipers, larger aluminum radiator, mugen intake, large sway bars, etc).

I am curious to learn the details it's life from 2006-2016. That sounds interesting.
What is the bare minimum it needs to get it running again?

The # seems familiar -- Was this car ever in the Northern VA area? (I thought i read it was Ed's and then stolen).. so after Ed owned it was it Northern VA again?
I thought I remember autocrossing against this car back in the day -- used to have a 2.0L motor in there, was a quick one.

Re: 97 #00151 Returns
It was in rural VA, near Roanoke, and appeared at the VIR Expos 7 & 8 if I remember correctly. It was at one of those at least. I can check our records to confirm. I don't know if it was auto-x'd during that era, but it had a k-series engine and JDM front in the earlier years. It was changed back to the USDM front with a JDM SiR-G engine briefly as well before going back to a shell and for sale. I haven't made a post about theft auction and the following years yet. Here are a couple of photos. Maybe they'll ring a bell?navin wrote: ↑Tue Feb 16, 2021 8:50 am The # seems familiar -- Was this car ever in the Northern VA area?
