This year I'll finally have a chance to track my CTR for the first time since purchasing it in 2018. Plus do you guys remember the 97 CWR with JDM Front + Endyn engine that I brought to Expo 12 at Mid-Ohio? It'll be making a return to Expo this year. We bought it back from Cooper last August and now my brother Brandson owns it, so maybe someone can help convince him to get on track for the first time.

Re: Type R Expo 2021
Happy to help Brandson at the event. I would recommend him making a post and the community can chime in with tips and share videos for preparation. This event is known for introducing new drivers to tracking, those who only track once a year, or others who got their start into HPDE's, time trials, or full wheel-to-wheel racing, at Type R Expo. Note, due to COVID world events and everyone's safety, Novice spots are limited to 10x, so have Brandson sign up asap.Asian-G wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 4:59 pm'18 CTR #18003 My weekend beaterOutrun wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 7:27 pmBlack chin spoiler and black hood, number 215?Asian-G wrote: ↑Sat Jul 10, 2021 6:34 pm Just registered as an instructor. Re: Type R Expo 2021
An honest question to those who haven't registered:
Are you planning on attending but haven't registered / paid yet? If so, why?
It's been a longtime issue with Expo, with the exception of the two events held with NSXPO. In those cases, there was a sense of urgency, and spots filled up immediately.
Unfortunately, when people delay, it hurts our budget planning terribly and shifts our focus to "begging" instead of making Expo better.
....
I'd love to hear the responses, thank you.

Re: Type R Expo 2021
Jay, I figured this would have filled up within the first week of you announcing it. I wish I had an answer to your question. Everyone has patiently waited the last 2 years for the next expo, expressed all kinds of interest and was always wondering has there been any updates or ideas as to when the next expo will be. I just bought a house and it is draining my account quicker than I care to say but I did what I could, begged borrowed and pleaded and scraped up the money so I could attend what could be the last expo ever. I have a good and very understanding and extremely patient friend to whom I still owe a good chunk of change to for a certain "blue pearl" that I acquired earlier this year and I hope he doesn't mind that I used some of this money to attend expo this year. Knowing him, he understands and sees that some of us don't want to see the end of expo. I enjoy seeing everyone, seeing what they have done to their cars since the last time we met, hearing how their families are doing, seeing their kids grow up and some even finally finishing up medical school. I know people get older, priorities change in life, cars stay parked and eventually are sold to make room for minivans, or people are just afraid to drive them out of fear of being stolen or wrecked. Me personally, I still get giddy everytime I crank mine up, easy that pain in the ass light switch clutch out and tear away from the stop light listening to the exhaust scream as the rpms get higher. I know it's hard to set a firm date a year in advance for the next expo. Some people may have a hard time getting a week off with such short notice. Maybe some people can't justify driving that far, renting a trailer to tow their car with or paying for several nights at a hotel. Hell, when I went to Wisconsin for Road America, I burnt 16 tanks of fuel up there and back, not including the other expenses but I budgeted my money leading up to expo so I could attend. Saving just $5 bucks a day for the year would cover most expenses for the trip. That's giving up 1 cup of coffee from Starbucks or not supersizing your order at McDonald's. Like I said, I wish I knew the answer to your question but these are just some of my thoughts processes as to why.

Re: Type R Expo 2021
hootrscootr speaks the truth, but this event gave me my start in all of this car stuff...
I will rearrange my life to make it happen (and am).
2 kids, 2 businesses, garage reno in progress, type R roller on a trailer (as of now), etc. I'm still going... no matter the date or the location.
I'm hoping folks really consider that this may be the last one... and if you've never been to one, this would be the one to go to, regardless of how long a drive it is or anything else.
I also want to know if there is anything I can do to help folks make the event if they're on the fence.
Please reach out to me or any of the expo staff if you have questions or concerns about the event. If you have a question, chances are, someone else does too. Don't be shy!
Cheers,
Ramzi

Re: Type R Expo 2021
Ramzi, it wouldn't be an expo without you there tech'ing the cars! I remember riding by your car at Dominion and you had the hood up and the motor was torn into what looked like a million pieces but damn if you didn't get it fixed with the quickness! You are always ready willing and able to loan out a tool or helping hand to anyone that needs it, things like this keep and make the community stronger. Without people like you, Ravi, Victor or Chris or any of the other long time sponsors, none of this would be possible. If this is gonna be the last expo, let's go out with a bang(hopefully not my engine)!

Re: Type R Expo 2021
Yeah man... that was the "backup" I brought... and jay stayed over at my place in MD the night before.
We even brought the tail gate we raffled off in there, lol.
But actually, I had nate from NVUS in the car with me and on a specific corner, the car would cut power.
Basically, the spark plug tube seals were getting flooded by oil but only enough to kill the car on that one corner lol.
New tube seals and plugs and I was back at it.
While I won't be able to pack as many tools this time (different car), I am happy to help out wherever I can.
