Any mid-2021 recommendations for a brake pad that I can run on 1997 OE calipers for "daily" driving, autocross, and light track sessions? Think Track Night in America sort of stuff. 3 to 4 20-minute sessions. Planning on running solid rotors on a completely OE(M) brake system.
My most recent experience with a setup like this would be Ferodo DS2500 on a 2016 Scion FR-S (prepped for SSC).
If Ferodo made a fitment for the Integra, I'd not be asking. They've been a great pad. Scratched all the above itches and don't dust out like my (admitted dated) experience with Hawk pads.

The autocross is where I pause, as I don't have first hand experience. I presume one would want quick bite, so a pad that activates at a lower temperature range. A Hawk HP+ is a guess, but I would research.
For tracking, the Hawk HT10's would be my first choice. Solid Intermediate pad with a temperature range that works on the street and the dust isnt corrosive.

I did like the Winmax pads like the W3s for that kind of purpose. They did dust quite a bit, but easy to maintain. However it seemed due to COVID and other issues they were hard to get from American vendors.
I was trying the Endless MX72 pads and they were holding up for 15 minute sessions and fine for street use. Didn't get much time using them for autocross, but I think they would have been fine. They were a lot like the Winmax pads too. I had to get them through rhdjapan with a wait time of about 2 weeks or so from Japan.

Thanks! I'll check these out. I might even have some Hawk bucks that haven't expired and ease of acquistion might win out.
The autocross use would be pretty light, let's be honest the tracking would too. Autocross would probably be instructor runs at schools or a local. Maybe as a rabbit car at cop school. For actual autocross, the car just isn't classed competitively anymore.
There are two schools of thought on pads for autocross:

- Something better than OE.
- The worst brake pads you can find.

It's been a long time since I've thought about DS ITRs, but I can ask the Borowskis what they were using.spratte wrote: ↑Thu Jul 22, 2021 8:12 am Thanks! I'll check these out. I might even have some Hawk bucks that haven't expired and ease of acquistion might win out.

The idea with using "the worst" is that they help prevent you from over slowing. I'm trying to remember what we ran for back in the DS day. Maybe HPS upfront and HP+ in the rear?

Nah, don't sweat it just nostalgia. Running more aggressive pads in the rear to reduce pitching all the weight onto the nose.

If you’re looking for cheap and effective, I’d give these a try:
https://www.powerstop.com/product/power ... rake-pads/
Looks like they’re ~$80 from Summit so they’re dirty cheap. I ran these after using up a set of DS2500’s on my AutoX STi (also tried some Hawk stuff). They tended to dust heavily on track but would easily stand up to shorter sessions at ~8-9/10ths pace. They were really good for street and autox since the compound didn’t need a ton of temp to “turn-on”. Feel was really good/easy to modulate.
