Jdm recaro sr3 bolster

Post by Justadad » Sun Oct 10, 2021 8:40 pm

I picked up a set of recaros and want to freshen up the bolster on each seat but can’t seem to source them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Capital Seating in the UK have them, on EBay.

If you're getting the covers there has been chat about the red ones being a bit pink.

Since we're talking about covers too - Amayama has some OEM covers. It will be very pricey to recover the seats and it wasn't clear what colors are available, but some still are.

Amayama do have the bolster covers and upper covers, agree they are super expensive. I do wonder if the Capital Seating bolsters and covers are actually OEM/Recaro parts or aftermarket.

Be careful when you are dismantling, the corners of the covers are easy to tear when you take them off the bolsters. If your bolsters are very collapsed it's actually kinda better as the cover isn't so tight.

I'm interested in seeing how those fit when they turn up. I have 4 seats apart right now and I'm deciding what you do with them. Happy to provide tips on getting them dismantled if you haven't done it. It's a bit of a process.

I didn’t realize that I ordered the incorrect bolsters and I tried modifying them before I realized and I can’t return them now. I ordered the correct ones but they aren’t available until mid November. As soon as they arrive and I install them I will post pics and an update. The seats took me 15 minutes to get apart but I have done plenty of seats in my day.

Well after a long wait on the new shipment arrival I received my bolsters today. Took me about an hour to replace one bolster on each seat and anyone mechanically inclined could tackle this job with ease I would say. The foam is slightly different foam wise but was an exact fit. I wish I would have gotten all 4 and did them all at once. I did not get the covers so I can’t speak about those but I am very happy with the bolsters and the sag and deteriorated foam that were present are a mere memory now. Purchased from Capital Seating and would buy them again. Dealt with a guy named Chris who was great about getting back to me with my inquires. Hope this helps someone who is thinking about ordering them. I think I paid $180 for 2 bolsters shipped to pa in under a week from the Uk.
