Post stolen caR thoughts
Re: Post stolen caR thoughts
The car didn't feel "together" fit and finish wise. The dealership had something like a grace period or satisfaction guarantee. I was able to return the car within a few days and get my money back. This would've been sometime in December 2002.
Re: Post stolen caR thoughts
Oh, wow! So only a few days of ownership!
Almost 20 years ago! Crazy.
Do you remember how many miles were on it?
Im assuming they replaced a lot of parts on the ITR with GSR parts. Probably higher mileage parts, too.

I don't remember the mileage. This was down in San Diego, CA. Pacific Auto Sales. I don't think it's there any more, at least not at that location. It was also mentioned in this thread:

Re: Post stolen caR thoughts
My friend bought it form a private seller in San Diego. It had RSX front seats and JDM 16's at that time. Plus no front lip and "happy" carved into the front bumper.
My friend also felt similar about it driving weird and he ended up replacing some suspension arms, but the biggest factor was a wonky axle. Also, one of the head bolts ended up being stripped and I used a Time Sert to repair it, (mind you before that it managed a 108 degree track day at Thunderhill)!
It's great to see more pictures of it before I owned it, thanks!

Also, I believe we determined the mileage was around 85k when it came here, 140k when it was stolen.

Re: Post stolen caR thoughts
Did you buy the car off your friend?
Do you know how many owners it had?
Did anything stand out about the car why it just didn't feel right?
Can you post the VIN?

Re: Post stolen caR thoughts
I bought it off my friend yes. It would have had three owners here in Fresno, and at least two in San Diego I believe.
The car was fine by the time I owned it, (besides the head bolt issue).
106's VIN was: JH4DC2319VS002932

Re: Post stolen caR thoughts
My memory sucks. I actually paid $11k and not $10k. I actually had the car just two days.
