OEM headunit pics request
Re: OEM headunit pics request
Don’t put the CD player upside down for pics you may damage them . Bonus pics of a nsx changer ( I had to get to the radio )
Re: OEM headunit pics request
NOS OEM TYPE R HEADUNIT. I THINK THE 97 has a different part number

Re: OEM headunit pics request
Nice piece! The pic I posted has a manufactured date of Jan 97 . It has the same part number decal as yours. Different Acura font and different compact disc changer font ( this was probably Sony changing that logo).
Re: OEM headunit pics request
I don’t have Tapatalk vip. The quality of the pics really suffers on the medium free option. Ouch.
Re: OEM headunit pics request
Here’s a amber lit Honda branded cd player. 98 crv will not operate the antenna. Other than that pretty much identical.
Re: OEM headunit pics request
Thanks so much for the pics and info!
I just found out about the 1998 CRV hesdunit being compatible.
I bought the Canadian Acura EL headunit. Planning to buy the CRV headunit as well.
I wonder if there's a way to make the antenna work.

That's a sexy CD player!
I'm in the middle of rehabbing a 1992 NSX radio-at 25 years or so all the capacitors go bad and start to leak. It might be worth cracking one open and looking at the capacitors-they're getting towards the end of their service life.
One of the things we've learned is that even if the Honda PN is the same there are internal differences across the years. Basically Alpine would change the design of the internal board based on chip/part availability and improvements in the design itself.
Re: OEM headunit pics request
I wonder what other parts Alpine made for Honda. I know my OEM Honda alarm for my 1994 Civic was made by Alpine. My Acura trunk CD changer was Alpine, thought it hooked up to the stock Acoustic Research tape deck.
Re: OEM headunit pics request
The round plug in the back is the alpine plug.
The Japanese version had right vs. left switched. This was Japanese vs. European, Mercedes, etc , not just Honda.
