Re: Are these seats real?
They are messing with me because they look off but i can't figure out why. The underside looks legit at least.

The color "being off" to my eye is likely due to flash/lightning during photos. They look very clean, but the price is higher than I would pay, especially give a need to go buy rails + deal with customs, risk of shipping damage, etc.

Re: Are these seats real?
The "recaro" stitching isn't right, might be genuine seats that have been recovered.
or is that obvious...

Re: Are these seats real?
HMO is the first spot that comes to mind but I haven't purchased from them in years. I would try to buy local to avoid shipping and be able to first-hand review the seats prior to purchase. I sold my last set for ~$650 but they were ~6/10.audipwr1 wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 6:50 pmFolks have suggestions on good shop to get them with rails in nice clean shape / trustworthy seller?coolhandluke wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 12:56 pm None-tracking link:

Re: Are these seats real?
Dumb question, but at this wild 2022 prices what would be wrong with just getting new SR3s with red stitching?

Not exact to original, but that should match up fine with the car interior right?

Re: Are these seats real?
Excellent question. cheezthis and others have bought Recaro SRD's in the past. The biggest difference from memory are alcantara + tweed fabric in JDM ITR/CTR Recaros vs. all tweed in Recaro SRD's.

Re: Are these seats real?
I probably shouldn't admit that I was suckered in, but I took one for the team and just ordered these (found this thread right after), will let you know how they turn out. I kind of assumed they were at least recovered, but that wouldn't really bother me. They claim to use and sell genuine recaro covers. Even if they are not, they look good enough to my eye (by the pics at least) and will fulfill a deep desire I've had for a pair of these.
The reviews seem legit, people posting their IGs in eBay comments are real, and posting the seats they receive and installs in their cars, etc... PayPal/eBay should take care of me if I have any problems there, I hope...
Just please don't tell the wife how much I paid when we have a baby on the way. I made the mistake of telling her how much they cost now, and how I'll now never be able to achieve my dream of owning a set... I'll have to intercept the package and stash it in the garage before she sees...
Now to get some rails... I'll probably take go for the Juran's from JDMOhioDirect, but those have gone up in cost too now.
EDIT: looking at @Used.racingparts - they sell covers for a lot of Recaros, not claimed to be original but made in Thailand. I suspect since these seats are coming from Thailand they may have the same or similar repros on them. Hopefully they hold up. For a car that doesn't see a lot of miles or UV, they should be OK (maybe even better then stock). I don't appreciate them being advertised as OEM or for selling as much as they are if not, but... whatev.
