Re: WTB OEM USDM catalytic converter and mid pipe
I'm curious as to why there are so many people recently that want used Catalytic converters with risk that they'll just need to be replaced again soon (it's hard to tell if one is really good without cutting one open or maybe weighing and comparing against a new one AFAIK?). Why not go new aftermarket with warranty? Is this for restorative/originality purposes? As for midpipe, any good muffler place can fab one up.

Re: WTB OEM USDM catalytic converter and mid pipe
Those are the only two pieces that I need to return my car back to 100% stock and original. I bought it in 2016 as a shell and was able to find the VIN matching engine and VIN matching transmission over the years and highly meticulously have been restoring the car to it's former glory over the past 6 years. I currently have a JDM mid pipe with no catalytic converter with the USDM header and muffler so it's highly deserving. My car is very clean and has only 74,000 mi so I'm going for 100% original condition. It has been a no expense spared project for me. I went as far as to buying a complete engine just to yank the crankshaft out of it to put into my VIN matching engine block

Re: WTB OEM USDM catalytic converter and mid pipe
If I don't find them I'm plan to use one of the universal fit catalyst and have some OEM flanges I have laying around welded on so it will be a simple bolt on without having to modify the original header flange or JDM mid pipe.oddomatik wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 1:26 pmI knew you in particular had already seen my How-To post so I figured that was your motiveDC231 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 1:16 pm Those are the only two pieces that I need to return my car back to 100% stock and original. Re: WTB OEM USDM catalytic converter and mid pipe
In 5yrs of looking for a cat, I've never even seen one come up for sale, new or used.
Reality is they just aren't out there and a used one at this point in time will have a limited life span anyways. As discussed before, there is no direct fit aftermarket for a type r. I was fortunate enough to locate a comptech cat, which is closest to oem as I'll probably get. Fit and finish is spot on. But again, these just aren't out there either. My suggestion is the magnaflow but that will require modification to direct bolt onto stock type r components.

My state made selling or purchasing a used meow a felony, even a wtb ad is a crime. Even possession of a used cat is a crime as well.
