Expo 2023 - Community Collective

Post by Dc2-ProductionS » Wed Aug 24, 2022 12:30 pm

It seems a 2022 Expo had good traction earlier in the year, and though much hard work I'm sure put in by the usual organizers to make it happen, it's seems my daily check for a Expo update will not arrive.

That being said....

I think the Type R community has gotten a bit of a "kick" of excitement from things like the new 2023 CTR, as well as the ITR valuation over the past 18-24 months, and the dreaded discontinuation of endless parts for the DC2-R chassis.

Prior there had been a decline in attendees, and motivation for Expo to happen. However I feel that the community is now growing and the potential for a GREAT 2023 Expo keeps me up at night! I think as a core community here on the website, and through social's (IG /FB / Twitter / Reddit / etc. ) we can promote the event to bring back the motivation and attendees.

What can I , we, us do to help facilitate Expo happening in 2023?
- 01-0590 ITR PY - Garage Queen
- 01-1058 ITR NHBP - Gone
- 97-0012 ITR CW - Princess in progress

I love this post. I have a lot to say about this from a broad perspective as well as a personal one (which played a large role in 2022). These past few months, I needed shift my focus onto my family.
I have had an idea of what I call an Expo Reunion event planned, and maybe 2023 will be when that happens.

Nice!
Take care everyone, ... see you next year.

I need to get back to Neptune's Net some day.
Stopped there for lunch with a few of the first ITR expo crowd and get still get a kick out of seeing it in one of the early F & F movies.

Overall, there are multiple areas the committee needs help with. Ultimately, I recommend thinking about an area you would want to focus on improving, and let's chat.

I owe everyone transparency on what happened in 2022. I'll start writing out what happened as my work schedule is starting to return to normal.

Maybe we at least align on a date?

I’d hold it / then get car transport lined up

I understand the ask, as many have already or will soon be required to put holds for securing their PTO in 2023.

Some challenges for our committee & community every year is we don't have a date until a contract is signed, ie a 50% deposit. Each track opens up their calendar year on different schedules, which previously wasn't available until January.

I'll make a separate post for 2022 to keep things clean.
