Currently, the community is spread out all over. On social media alone, there are too many groups and pages to sift through. I'm unsure how much interest we have from attendees both new and old, volunteer staff, and so on to put another one together yet. It's something that we need to assess.
I still want to do an Expo reunion event, even if it does not include a track event. After the many years of signing my name on expensive contracts, I have less interest in taking on that liability personally. However, I think a lot of miss seeing each other, even if it's just once a year. I will talk to some other groups that we've worked with in the past and see what opportunities might arise. We've definitely helped some groups in the past, and I believe in karma.
In the meantime, we've restarted work on building the Type R Club / Expo / ITRCA website that will help document Expo, the cars, history, etc. After that's done, we'll focus on what kind of event we can do. I will also check-in with contacts at AHM when we our ideas solidified.
Thanks to everyone who has continued interest in this. It means a lot. Expo was a huge part of my life and basically a second job that could reward when seeing everyone hanging out at Expo. We pulled off some amazing events.
