98 Type R copart

Non repairable title flooded low miles and these boys don't play.

Does run and drive and looks clean.

Looks like someone is going to be driving this around on a dealer tag or using it for parts.

Low miles and pretty clean for being flooded......would make a good track car since it's a non repairable title

That sucks about the non repairable title. Will any state let you register it ?

Their may be a chance another state may let you title it but Texas has deemed the car unrepairable. It's a large gamble if you want to try it but I would run a Google search first before bidding

I've purchased salvage vehicles from Texas before but nothing with a non repairable title. I've heard people will purchase a CD Florida title (certificate of destruction) and register them in a different state but I've never seen confirmation of this. Usually it's for export or for parts.

It's a 3 owner car and mileage looks to be accurate.

Currently the bid is at $7400 and it's a no reserve auction

Anyone have any experience bidding on copart? Back in the day I know you needed a dealer license. Such ashame it’s just a parts car, but I’m sure there’s a state it could be registered again after jumping through there hoops!

Everycar I own is from copart/iaai. My 98 Type r was a there recovery from copart. You can go through a broker most don't charge much. But yes most states require a dealer license some states like Georgia depending on the title you can bid as a public buyer. If the person was smart they would of taken the check and purchased the car back.

I heard the same thing that there are a few states that will let you register it too. That graffiti R that Dave-ROR owns has a COD from Florida from theft and it has to be towed to and from events.

I can't buy this caR. No room and the price is to high at this point anyway. I did try to some research for others. There was a news story that about Houston flood cars soon to flood Arizona. From what I see the car can NEVER be registered in Texas. EVER ! I spent an hour and a half with the dmv here and she informed me it can be registered and titled with a restored salvage title brand after passing a level 3 inspection in Arizona (can Never be registered in Texas regardless). They check for stolen components and that all your safety features work . They don't share state brands but to some what level are still communicated. Interesting enough you mentioned the graffiti type R. I don't know anyone here but is the that the same on going way back on Honda-tech? That one had a certificate for destruction. They won't register a car with that brand . Here is the azdmv number I dialed. (602) 255-0072

Awesome research and info. I look at it this way this car with a clean title with that mileage could fetch what $20k give or take so with a salvage title not having to do anything but register it I would be comfortable with paying $10k. It says run and drive but if anyone knows copart like I do that doesn't mean a whole lot. I think the person buying this may just drive it around on a dealer tag. I doubt it's going to be exported and it's too clean to tear apart for parts. Registering it in Arizona is a great plan to whoever buys it.
