Intermittent Electrical p1457

Post by Panasonic » Sun Dec 22, 2024 2:03 am

Hey all,

I had recently taken my car to be looked at for a p1457. They told me it was an intermittent electrical issue, not a mechanical one after several smoke test, test drives etc.

With that being said, are there things I can try to get rid of the intermittent issue? I have already replaced the ECU. The purge control solenoid was also swapped out, two way valve replaced, canister replaced, etc..

This whole issue began on a trip where I ran my fuel very low (I lost my wallet :( ) Could that have damaged the fuel tank pressure sensor to cause it to act up sometimes? That was what I was planning to replace next.

One last thing I wanted to mention, the first time they had fixed it, the light stayed off for like 400 mikes. It came back on when I hit a bump on the highway. I have since used some zip ties to secure everything in place, in case bumps trigger it and hoping that will keep it off.

The light is really triggering my OCD, even though I know everything is fine. :(

I’ve attached video of the last thing they told me, but I basically explained everything lol. Thanks to anyone that can help me resolve this as my Christmas present 🎁

I have that code and haven’t been able to fix it either.

Just saw these. Had kind of given up on it until now. I am going to smoke it and run some diagnostics with a new scanner. But there is this part I found that is part of the evap system that I was wondering if interchangeable in case this is causing any issues for anyone with the code:

From Acura CL 2003-01, Acura TL 2003-00

The old discontinued Type R part

Looks literally identical lol...what do you all think?

Acklander had posted a uk seller. It uses a different bracket. I bought one from the same seller on eBay I can’t locate the seller anymore. He had one recently. I believe it was r motion or something like that.
