Basically! All it’s meant to do is give people the “opportunity” to own the car at a fraction of the price. At the end of the day there’s really only two winners: the seller who finally got his asking price for the car, and the buyer who got a car for a mere $100.
RHDKEV had been trying to sell the car for atleast 3-4 months. Same thing as William with the DC5R.
3-4x months doesn’t seem long for Type R’s, especially for niche JDM cars. The raffle concept appears be showing flaws:
-State rules may allow contestants to enter without buying a raffle ticket
-The validity of the raffle itself needs to be transparent
-High risk of malfeasance

Looking at it from the seller's perspective, the risk or challenge is selling enough raffle tickets.

Im on a couple part raffle pages on Facebook. I've won some small things here and there during a 25 people $10 each type deal. They usually then film a random number generator applied to the page to pick the winner. While I know it can be shady I can at least say the two I'm a part of seem very trust worthy.
