Picked up my first Type R (FK8) last year and looking forward to attending my first Type R expo this year
For those that have attended past events, how’s the security situation? Any incidents regarding theft, etc? Since our cars are theft magnets and all. It would suck to stay overnight at the hotel and come out next day to see wheels jacked or the car missing
While theft always has been and unfortunately always will be a concern for our cars I can't think of a single major theft related incident in the 17 years we've been doing this. That said you always want to be cautious. Take similar steps as you would parking your car anywhere.
Since I haven't been paying too much attention lately, have FK8 thefts been happening? If so is it anywhere as bad as it was for the ITR?

What Lance said. Some of us often have enough tools and parts that are worth more than our cars at the track and I can't think of a single incident of a major theft of anything, and AFAIK no car has ever been stolen at one of the events.
Since most of us are drunks, we are usually up late drinking and watching over the cars when they are at hotels. Tracks either lock the gates or have security so cars left at the track are going to be pretty safe.
Looking forward to trying a new track! And a hotel I can burn points at instead of $$$.

That's reassuring! As far as FK8 theft, considering how new it is, I haven't heard any case of the car itself being stolen, but have seen pics of the OEM wheels stolen, aka the car on cement blocks w/ wheels missing

We just need Asspenny to book a shuttle bus service and we can all leave out cars at the track.
