Re: Restoring #97-00012
So I have spent the last 2 Wednesdays cleaning.... Cleaning... and then cleaning some more. The rear wheel wells and underside of the caR needed some love. Sanding and grinding and cleaning to get any surface rust, dirt, and peeling undercoating off.
The wheel wells will get recoated with black undercoat, and the bottom of the car will most likely stay as it is once its fully cleaned thoroughly. Lot's of parts making their way in to be able to start reassembly, and suspension parts are going to powdercoat soon. Some progress pics of the wells and underbody so you guys know Im still hacking away at heR!!

That pup is seriously this mans best friend. <3
Which bike? CRf50? or the Haro Revo?
CRf is for my niece and nephew and pit shenanigans, Haro a friend hmu and said was in his dumpster at work. Needed air in tires and basic maintenance. LOL.

Haha I like how the pup is helping with the project. I meant the haro . Nice save . The things people throw away. I also have a thing for older bmx bikes in addition to my interest in Hondas. The mini bike also looks fun. Loving your build . Good work. Looking forward to seeing more.Dc2-ProductionS wrote: ↑Mon Mar 05, 2018 9:39 amThat pup is seriously this mans best friend. <3

Re: Restoring #97-00012
Update time!
Got some good work done on the old giRl last night. 2 Wednesdays ago (3/8) we got 14" of snow and I was making fires and clearing driveways all night. Soooo yeah, no work got done! LOL. Last Wednesday (3/14) no worthy update because we spent all night cleaning up all the wheel wells and the bottom of the car. Any spot that shows any little spec of discoloring or surface rust is ground away. It tends to be right on the bottom of some of the seams where undercoat was scarce, but no worry, we are making heR good as new!! We were able to get the front wells taped off and sprayed with fresh undercoat last night even though we got another 4" of snow into the night last night too!! It came out fantastic in my opinion and I can't wait to get the rear wells and underside done. Besides getting the bay sprayed, this really feels like the first step in starting to rebuild the caR, and I'm super excited. On to the pics!
Sanded/ground/cleaned/ & taped up front well....
Sprayed!
I didnt get any before pics of the passenger well, but here are some afters!! I think my buddy helping me snapped a few befores, I'll try to get them.
I can't WAIT to get the rears sprayed and to be able to start mounting some hardware back in there all gold bolts, and brand new rear trailing arms!!
Another job I wanted to tackle last night was the under dash wiring. I hate wiring! I feel that hate is mostly for the fact that EVERY car I've done wiring on has been tampered with by someone else, and it drives me nuts!! Well if you read through some of the earlier posts, you may remember nitrous buttons, kills switches, alarm, upgraded speakers and stereo, etc etc.. Basically a nightmare!! I've already gone through and removed a majority of the wiring, however this final part of what seemed to be mostly the alarm was wired into some major lines.
I zoned out for a while as my buddy was under the caR grinding away at the bottom (not happy that he was under there btw ) and took my time to get the wiring cleaned up and put back to stock. Some pictures below of the fantasticcccccc wiring I worked my way through.
I have a much better feeling for tackling the dashboard and all the wiring now that everything is removed. I have some soldering/taping/sheathing to do to clean it up, but much much happier with what is left.
Stay tuned, those rear wells are going to look GLORIOUS!!!
