I've run COTA and while it was fun, I really don't think it's worth an Expo there. Our cars just don't have the speeds for that track to fully enjoy it. I'd rather spend half as much and go to Mid Ohio.
Although, I do want to go to great tracks out there and not some little, unknown ones just for the sake of it being cheap. I think places like VIR, Mid-Ohio and Road America are perfect. I really think we need to try to have an Expo at Road Atlanta and Watkins Glen. I know cost is a factor, but why not go to tracks that are world renowned.
Not sure about Road Atlanta or Watkins Glen, but I definitely see your point about COTA with lower HP cars on average. I was told the same with Daytona...our cars don't really get the speed up to make it worth while, but for me, it's a bucket list track and I do plan to go on it. Just my $0.02.
Our cars can do Daytona. Daytona just sucks as a road course. I never want to race there again and would not even consider an HPDE there.
I completely agree that we need to do an event at Road Atlanta. It is considered quite often but hasn't worked out so far. I'd love one at Sebring too even though it's flatter than RTW's mom.

And that is why I ran COTA... once. It was a bucket list track and being only 2hrs away there was no reason not to other than cost. However, I lucked out and did one of the first BMWCCA events there at $300 for one day. Like I tell everybody, do it once if you can, just to say you did but there are other tracks that are a lot more fun for half the cost.
Craig - Who would love Expo at the Glen.

Second Road Atlanta
. That track is awesome and for those that’s never ran it, you’re missing out. I’ve personally been to watkins glen as well but not tracked. I would make that 12+ hr trip to track it as well.

I will go back to Watkins Glen. Let's coordinate. East coast track events were my motivation to buy the EG project.
Caravan Update:
-I fly in Charleston late Wednesday. I am to pickup my car at Essess Autoworks Thursday morning ~7-8am and head north to Raleigh with Dave-ROR. Red Oak's and other brewery taprooms with AssPenny/Dave-ROR will follow.

Chin always does a Glen event around the 4th of July. We should plan next year to hit it along with some Philly Independence day adventures.

I could commit to this. It would be fun to coordinate with another event at VIR, NJMP, etc.
