Ive checked with them several times, its not in stock. Not sure why they advertise it?

It looks like they repair them. Probably replace the resistors and capacitors. Core charge tells me that . If I had a bad one I would still be concerned with it vanishing. I assume you need this for California smog ?

Yes you're right they repair ECUs. Here in Nevada i am required to pass a smog check for registration. Not as strict as CA but none the less a requirement.

This might be a dumb question, but can you just put in a '98 spec ECU? Aren't the settings pretty similar. Or is this one of those OBD 1/2 situations?

Both 97 and 98 USDM models are OBD2a but the 97 Integras didn't have the fuel tank pressure sensors and the 97 evap. system was more like obd 1.5 since it wasn't truly closed IIRC. I believe this is the reason they actually have 2 different OBD2a ecus.
It's also one of the reasons the A02 ecus were prized for swaps since it's the only ecu that can be used for B18C5 swaps to pass modern CARB or similar without having to find a way to add a tank pressure setup present in later models.
If you ran an 98 ECU in a 97 Integra you'd either have a check engine light since the tank pressure sensor isn't connected or since the later models had compatible tanks and the sensor you can update evap system, fuel tank, and wire harness(es) to 98 in order to add necessary sensor. Possible but not going to be a lot of fun.

Didn't katman or maybe ff squad have a fix for the tank pressure sensor?

I don't think so, Katman was gracious enough to work with me quite a bit when I was working on a 97 LS that I swapped a b18c5 into (will eventually be going into 01-0386). Very educational experience.
Advice for passing CARB was to use a 97 GSR ecu but if you're doing a swap and have to pass bar\ref.... inspection, if they see the ecu code isn't technically for the motor, they can fail you depending on their mood. It's a big chance to take and not an ecu I wouldn't really want to run an ITR on long term regardless.

This makes some sense. Emissions different than bar. I have a 2000 hatch with R swap. I use a jdm oem ecu in this car no check engine no light for 15 years. When I put in a usdm ecu I get a few codes. Gas tank is not one of them . I have seen people search for the gas tank for si from a civic coupe. So in California you can pass the emissions but not " the bar". My state you need to communicate with all ready monitors on and no codes. In my case a em1 ecu does the trick.
