Could primarily be low speed tracks in general, but having been to Buttonwillow I wouldn't think heat would be an issue at all considering it's a pretty fast track. Makes me wonder what the difference is between the FK2 and the FK8. Wonder if the FK2 had issues on release as well? Aren't they similar motors?

I spoke to some folks at Honda in Torrance about this today.
They're confident that this is an issue with either a bad part or perhaps a problem during the manufacturing process (somebody installed something improperly, or the wrong part, kinked hose, etc.). Or it could be a part that's failing under stress - a bracket or a clip yielding and allowing a hose to kink.
In other words, this should NOT be happening, and it would not happen in a Civic Type R that is correct.
They are urging everybody who has experienced this problem to get their Type R in to the dealer so that they can pull the codes and establish a VIN range of affected vehicles in hopes of identifying some common thread so they can figure out the root cause of this flaw.
They have done very extensive testing in very hot conditions (all over the world) and have not encountered this issue.

I can skip out on flying and do a cross country drive in one from Cali to Road America if they need more "testing"!

The additional CTR tire options (re: sizes) for the CTR added legwork in producing the Tire Discussion Thread. I had previously capped the information at 17''.

18" is the smallest that will fit the front Brembos. There are a lot more tire options at 18 than there are 20.
Rpf1 is available in 18x8.5 and is the cheapest track wheel option. OEM wheels are 20x8.5.

I'm going to switch the tires to Pirelli Trofeo R (softer compound/better tread to void ratio), will bring the stock Conti's as rain tires.
OEM pads, fluid (will bleed and flush a bit in a week or two, presently ~850 miles and I had the brakes smoking once (on purpose) a couple weeks ago (break-in/testing).
The ability of this suspension to absorb road imperfections and even patched roads (here in NE Ohio), is phenomenal (even compared to the Moton 3-ways in my recently sold ITR), and I figure there may be a reason the Honda engineers made these choices (we'll see).
