OEM reman power steering rack from acura?
OEM reman power steering rack from acura?
My steering rack is leaking (not the pump), and I would prefer to keep my power steering. I am kind of weary of buying a reman rack from rockauto or say NAPA and have it leak again. I know I replacing the seals is an option, but it is something I rather not do.
I saw on the parts websites online there is a reman rack from acura: 06536-ST7-515RM
Has anyone purchased one before? I am really considering this if the extra price is worth the assurance if it means oem seals and less of gamble with a parts store rack.

I just bought one. It's fun!

You have to supply the core in that box. With the bag. You will need to cordinate with your dealer. They want that core! The oem imo is great reassurance vs a rock auto version. The rack leaking will deteriorate the control arm bushing as well.

I would be curious to hear more details. I will need to proactively replace my steering rack at some point.

What do you need to know? They treat it like any core except they want the core bagged and boxed perfect. The rack has the inner tie rods. It doesn't have have the outer tie rodscoolhandluke wrote: ↑Thu Apr 26, 2018 6:13 pmI would be curious to hear more details. I will need to proactively replace my steering rack at some point.

Great. This looks perfect.
I did speak the to the dealer about it, they mentioned I just have to bring back the core, not a problem, Im probably just going to go with them since its easier to pick it up and take it back
Now for the install, most of the guides I see are for the civic, there was something about abs lines being in the way, is the integra the same way? Im probably going to have the shop that does the more difficult work do it for me if he is up for it.

Mine is leaking from the driver side. It really started getting noticeable after I completed my motor swap.coolhandluke wrote: ↑Thu Apr 26, 2018 6:13 pmI would be curious to hear more details. I will need to proactively replace my steering rack at some point.

Re: OEM reman power steering rack from acura?
Soooo this can't be real!!
I looked all day yesterday for an OEM replacement rack for my '97 and couldn't find one. So I ordered a unit from rock auto that looked as close to OEM as I could see..... When I look up that part # (06536-ST7-515RM), it shows that it only fits 98-01. Does this part differ from a 97 rack???
Now I need to see if I can return the rack to RockAuto and if my local dealer can pick this one up!!
