Wasn't the steering rack ratio different between 94-97 and 98-01? I would assume it would fit. I hope they have enough reman steering racks for all of usDc2-ProductionS wrote: ↑Fri Apr 27, 2018 7:31 am Soooo this can't be real!!
I looked all day yesterday for an OEM replacement rack for my '97 and couldn't find one. So I ordered a unit from rock auto that looked as close to OEM as I could see..... When I look up that part # (06536-ST7-515RM), it shows that it only fits 98-01. Does this part differ from a 97 rack???
Now I need to see if I can return the rack to RockAuto and if my local dealer can pick this one up!!
OEM reman power steering rack from acura?

Not sure why the 97 has a different part number there . They use different racks and sub frames for k swaps so I don't see why it won't fit. I think the pump and line may be different.

I will add this. It comes with a 12k and 12 month warranty. They want your vin and mileage. They have instructions how to drain the fluid. The bag in the pic you need to reuse and seal it and goes to the box for the core return.

Re: OEM reman power steering rack from acura?
So I called my buddy who works for Acura parts and he did some research.
The '97 part number is 53601-ST7-A61
The RM part number listed above (06536-ST7-515RM) supercedes the A61 number.
His part book dated 2014 shows the 515RM part as replacement for all model Integra's from 94-01. Type R included.
So seems thats Acura's answer.

All bolted in and looking pretty. Def the way to go. Just an FYI, the returned core MUST be an OEM rack.

awesome.
good thing my rack is original to the car. Planning on placing my order through my dealership sometime around mid to late June.

Looks great. Glad the oem one fits instead of a rock auto rack. My em1 has a discontinued part for the rack. It does list a rebuild kit for the oem rack. The ex reman is available. The steering feels a little different to me between the two cars. Eventually I need to call Honda about that car.Dc2-ProductionS wrote: ↑Mon May 14, 2018 12:40 pm All bolted in and looking pretty. Picked up my reman rack yesterday from the dealership. Having my tech friend install it on Monday along with a few other maintenance items like my oil pan gasket. Finally cant wait to be leak free again

Re: OEM reman power steering rack from acura?
Inspect your control arm bushings. When the rack leaks it tends to leak on them and will deteriorate the bushing. When I did mine the alignment machine broke and I had to wait two weeks. It wasn't even going to stay there overnight. After they fixed the machine it broke the next day after I got the car . Lol.
Re: OEM reman power steering rack from acura?
Do you recall which lower control arm bushing? The inner bushing thats hidden by the subframe or the rear compliance bushing? I'll have to check the bushings when I get the car back later. I have a spare front LCA that I might as well get bushings pressed in ready to have on standby
Just got my rack installed finally. Hopefully the oil pan and rack leaks solve the end of my leaks
