Re: WTB: USDM Type R ECU P73-A02 and other parts

Post by 9701TypeR » Sat Apr 28, 2018 12:14 am

Still in search of a 97 ECU. Any leads greatly appreciated!! This will be used in my 97 that im trying to get registered and back on the road. Currently running a JDM P73-003 and it wont communicate for smog testing.

The ebay lead from Jay has hit a dead end. Was contacted months ago by a member here who has 2 spares and wanted to sell, but then decided to keep them after he repeatedly messaged me. And turned out he has my original ECU that he bought from the previous owner of my car. Go figure...

So if anyone actually has one and they want to sell it, im a serious buyer. But that doesnt mean im also willing to pay an enormous price either. I know the rarity and realize there will be a premium to pay and im prepared for that.

Thanks guys

That's not cool that the forum member won't sell you the ecu that's original to your car. That's a great opportunity for someone to support the community and I'm surprised they aren't helping you out.

I'm surprised they wont sell to you as well but I can say from personal experience that when I found the VIN matching transmission to my PY 01-1158 that the person in possession of it kind of took advantage of the situation and squeezed every penny out of me that they could because they knew how badly I wanted it. still ISO VIN matching block!!. are they trying to pry more money from you that you aren't willing to pay or are they just not willing to sell now??

I am surprised as well, considering i was contacted several times and chatted via text. At this point he told me he wants to keep the 2 ecu's as spares incase he ever needs them. I guess he just wanted to rub it in and pour some salt on my wounds, that he has what im looking for, and 2 of them! Oh and the original one from my car. But im not letting one members actions dictate the rest of the community. We are all on here because of our passion for these automobiles and im confident something will eventually come my way. Until then the search continues.....

Updated parts and still looking for an ECU. If anyone needs a 98 ECU there are 2 that have been on ebay for awhile now.

DM me or text me on the engine harness... I have an OBD2A ITR harness I may part with if deal is right.
