HART CTR @ Roar Before the 24

Post by coolhandluke » Sat Jan 05, 2019 8:48 am

Honda America Race Team (HART) are piloting a TCR spec CTR at this year’s 24 Hours of Daytona. Chad Gilsinger (spoke at Expo 2018 West) and Ryan Eversley (Longtime community supporter) are driving.

The Roar Before the 24 is a required prep race. A Type R community member works for Penske and is sharing the pit box with HART.

They are in the Michelin Pilot Challenge Series. Only teams in the WeatherTech Sportscar series are required to participate at the Roar before the 24.

The Hyundai TCR team, Bryan Herta Autosport are going to field two cars were not at the Roar, but will be for the Rolex 24.

On the Honda front, a small team from central Florida, Hype Motorsports, are not attending the Roar as well, but plan to compete in the season with their newly J.A.S. Motorsports built TCR Civic Type R.

Additional teams there
- LAP Motorsports (2 cars)
- Atlanta Speedwerks (2 cars)

They have been very quick. Hopefully, BoP isn't going to hurt all the Civic Type Rs for the Rolex 24. It will be interesting to see what happens.
