Tein Flex Z
Anybody have experience with these? A great deal came my way but I was originally leaning toward the gc/koni setup to replace a tired stock suspension. I don’t drive her much, mainly street with the occasional lapping day.

Re: Tein Flex Z
I can't say anything about the flex line but I have had tein coil overs on my hatchback and they are probably 12-13 years old. They are still holding up and they ride really well. I don't have anything negative to say about them. Quality product. I have a koni and stock springs on my integra, again nothing negative to say about them. My friend had gc and konis as well and the car felt solid. I don't think you will regret either purchase. I believe the tein are rebuildable. I am not sure if konis are or not ?

Re: Tein Flex Z
What is your budget? Thank you for listing the use-cases.
Teins are cheaper to replace than rebuild and must be shipped to SoCal. I tried rebuilding a set of Flex ~5yrs ago. Koni’s can be rebuilt across the US and offer various options.
Alternatives:
-Eibach R2’s are no longer made new, but they were an economical 2-way adjustable. R2’s could still be sourced off shelves new or used. Eibach produced and handles all rebuilds in SoCal. The rates and valving were customizable. Note, these were the brain child of their employees, many of which race EG/DC2/S2K’s. Eibach has also been a longtime sponsor of Type E Expo and attends each year. I previously ran R2’s on my ‘97 and ‘98 and was very impressed.
~$2200 new / ~$1600-1800 used
-PIC’s are a simple and economical single-adjustable Taiwanese made shock. No rebuilds, but PIC could easily sourced replacements. PIC previously sponsored Expo. R2’s/R3’s were ~$1200 new / ~$850 uses
*I previously owned a set on my current ‘98 and ‘01

Re: Tein Flex Z
This brings up a good question, is there a list of Expo sponsors that can be referenced?

Re: Tein Flex Z
I ended up getting the Teins today. It was too good a deal to pass up for a brand new set. I’ve read very good reviews for them but was looking for itr specific feedback. I’ll follow up with a review at a later time when I install them and break ‘em in.
