Id also definitely call them after they send the decline notice. There should be a rep to reach out to.
I've been quiet on this, but I sent Hagerty all of this documentation back in 2010. Furthermore, I was asked about helping assess their values for ITRs recently. Everything is great in that area, but I'll follow-up with helping us get insured based on this thread. Currently, I still use my regular insurance provider but would be open to switching.

I am happy to hear this. Hagerty declined coverage for my 97, despite it being covered by Hagerty by the previous owner. :axe: That was why I was looking at Grundy- after my friend;s experience, I have started a quote from Hagerty.

Well, I can add that they refused to insure my car in 2010. I was told they've changed from only looking at old american muscle and euro market cars to also Japanese. I should give it a shot again.

Did a quote through Grundy and received an application rejection notice since it was "not a collector car" and not a "show car". 🤷‍♂️

I have no experience with Grundy. But FWIW I went thru my insurance agent for Haggerty and no issues. Had an agreed value policy within a couple of days. That said I have had the policy for at least 2, maybe 3 yrs now. Perhaps it's more challenging these days and if doing it yourself.

The insurance corporation of BC Canada (ICBC crown corp) still values all Integras as worth the same. About $3000 CAD (around $2300 USD) lol

Cheap insurance but it can be a battle if something bad happens.

I would weigh the pros versus cons. My current insurance is $1200/yr and will lead to a battle if something happens. I am following a lead with Gallagher Speciality Car Insurance from another Type R community member. I will then compare with Hagerty, since Grundy under writers didn’t consider the ITR a collector.

americancollectors.com they offer guaranteed value. Pricewise and coverage was very comparable to Grundy. Choosing the 2500 miles/yr policy was the cheapest. Went from $1100/yr via a traditional ins. co down to $370/yr.
