My experience over the past year with Acura specifically and backordered parts. I’ve ordered several times and came across “backordered” parts. Always received them just had to wait and only a few weeks at most. But when placing orders and when the dealers pushes it through to Honda, if it kicks it back right away, it’s discontinued and all hope is lost at that point Followed by an email pretty quickly saying part is no longer available. Haven’t gotten that so far...

I waited for a carpet for several months that never came back from no eta with Honda. They gave my money back but it was a disappointment . I have never had problems with back ordered items with a eta date. The carpet was the exception. I called about the ground strap. It's discontinued. Imagine that. Looks like spoon fed found a nice equivalent. Honda carries that part number for me , my Acura can't get it because the part doesn't cross over.

Correct. It’s the EM1 strap. It’ll do for now. I even thought about finding some 1/4 heat shrink in brown to try and match the OEM unit.Stin1 wrote:I waited for a carpet for several months that never came back from no eta with Honda. For anyone else who cares, I also just picked up the upper and lower steering column covers from iRunOEM. The lower of which I was told was thee last one and is now on “backorder” with no eta. He says that usually means discontinued.
Few small things today on my day off. My car had the incorrect strut tower bar nuts. Those things bother me.

I have never noticed that. Mine are wrong too. Wish you posted this before I sent my lady to Acura with my debit card for some goodies.

Ime Honda and Acura dealers can get each other's parts. At least when I ask for Acura parts at the Honda dealer they can always get them.

The Acura and Honda dealer are Penske dealers. I can get parts that crossover, but I get sent to the appropriate brand if not. Bell Honda is really far from me. They sell Honda and Acura parts online under a don't sponsor itrca so no plug. I see other locations that do Honda and Acura so I don't exactly know how that works. The other owners of the dealerships are autonation. I don't think I have got anything from them.Dave7CDMTYPER wrote: ↑Tue Jun 25, 2019 2:00 pmIme Honda and Acura dealers can get each other's parts. Certain Acura parts Honda can get, others are Acura only. I’ve run into this regularly. I’ve come to find out anything with an “ST7” part number Honda cannot get. All of my ST7 numbers I have to go through either iRunOEM or my local Acura dealership. My local Honda parts department is awesome though. 20+ year manager that allows me to just rifle off part numbers one after the other and then TELL HIM how much it is online, then he matches that. I use www.oemAcuraParts.com as my tool to load the part numbers into my cart and organize them, then give them a call! Super easy and the most affordable way to do business in a restoration. Plus, they deliver it right to my desk the following day!
