Confused counterfeiters? Mugen wheels dabay

Post by Stin1 » Sun Jul 07, 2019 2:01 pm

There should actually be a counterfeit thread or section here in my opinion, but I don't run the show. So anyway these knockoff Mugen wheels have been floating around eBay for a minute. The wheels are a smorgasbord of Mugen wheel characteristics. Do you think the counterfeiters did it on purpose or accident?

Not a bad rip off, but the inner face (where spokes attach) looks too flat or sharp edged or something

In my opinion there's more than that that's wrong. The entire barrel itself. The sheen , the material. Not to mention possible safety issues, copyright infringement, someone's image if they unknowingly try sell what they thought was real. Keep in mind once the decals come off someone who didn't or do their research could be fooled into buying these . All the threads about fakes are old as dirt . I think we need modern updates on this subject . Feel free to post any fakes here. Hopefully the title changes.

It does say "replica" in the ad. But the title of it doesn't say so. I could see why it'd be misleading in that regard.
