Civic Type R Roll Call

Post by Asian-G » Sun Apr 07, 2019 10:18 pm

I know it's been a min since I've last visited the forums. I chat with most of you on FB & IG, but I'll try to be more active with coming back to the site that brought us Expo. As the title reads CTR Roll Call, I didn't see a thread so here it is.

How many current or former ITR owners now own the new CTR?

I purchased mine brand spanking new with 33 miles on Sept 10, 18 in KC. I honestly wasn't looking to buy one so soon until I watch a vid w/ Eversley winning the TCR Championship which sparked the search.

Let's see those pics.

Rock on, thank you for sharing.

I didn't know you stopped by Sonoma after Type R Expo West. Wes, John, Dave, Luke, Ali, Mike, and myself, were all hanging in the paddocks.

FYI hashtags for your former cars should be: six digits if 98-01, or five digits for 97.
Ex: #981040 for 98-1040.

This allows a more unique identifier for future owners to search online and social media, landing this post, for example.

We were on our way to SF for the day and notice that Sonoma was on the way so we just stopped by the gate to take a few pics.

Appreciate the details about the hastags for our ITR's badge numbers. Guess I'm still just used to it being called the number sign or pound sign. lol. I'm still trying to get the hang of this whole hashtag stuff.

Many are in the same boat. The useful part of hashtags, is they can be a unique search term. The badge number hashtag leaves a trail for one to research a used car purchase, etc.

I had one for a couple months and absolutely loved it. I don’t think it can compare to the old R as it’s kind of a an apples to oranges comparison. I enjoyed having the power and comfort and being able to have fun while not compromising said comfort. Maybe I’m just getting older. I still loved taking the dc2 out and enjoyed it just as much. But after convincing myself I could make life work with 1 toy and another that was practically a toy as well I parted with it for something I could drive every day and do house stuff with. I would have loved to be able to experience it on the track but the times I did have some backroads fun it felt like it was on rails and in my opinion defied the expectations of being FWD I guess in that sense it lived up the DC2 likeness. The turbo would just nicely pull you out of a corner in a smooth linear feel.

Unfortunately haven't seen a track day yet. Just been a weekend beater enjoying the streets. Haven't experience any overheating issues on the streets, but I'll be taking precautions with certain mods to help keep temps down before I hit the track.

I've also been wondering if the overheating issue on the track has been solved by Honda or ctr owners.
